The Human Rights Institute (HRI) works to ensure that all individuals are treated fairly and afforded the same rights regardless of their identity. Our work promotes governance that respects civil and political rights and protects economic and social rights. We analyze national and local policies and institutions to document the causes of discrimination and inequality, and advocate for the rights of individuals to participate fully in society free from retaliation for their beliefs or identity.
HRI also monitors trials and promotes fair trial rights, builds the capacity of national and local governments to end discrimination in all its forms, and promotes socioeconomic rights, especially for historically marginalized communities.
