Professor Sarah Knuckey and the Human Rights Institute Seek Research Assistants for Spring 2020


Research Assistants are sought for work on the research projects detailed below. All CLS students, including 1Ls and LLMs, are encouraged to apply, and we have noted positions that 1Ls should particularly feel encouraged to consider.

A. Professor Sarah Knuckey. Research assistants are sought for a range of scholarly and advocacy projects including a) critiques of human rights, b) human rights methodologies, and c) mental health and resilience. (Working with HRI Faculty Co-Director and Human Rights Clinic Director Professor Sarah Knuckey; positions are paid.)

B. Advancing gender and racial justice, and challenging discrimination at the local level in the United States. Research assistants’ writing will support efforts to develop laws and policies that advance equity at the local level, and including research on laws and policies that foster implementation of the International Convention on Discrimination Against Women. There will also be an opportunity to contribute to the Universal Periodic Review of the United States. Familiarity with human rights law and mechanisms is helpful. (Working with HRI Project Director JoAnn Kamuf Ward; this position is pro bono.)
