The human rights movement is in a period of reflection and renewal. Investigations and research methods are becoming increasingly sophisticated and interdisciplinary to improve how human rights violations are identified, analyzed, and understood.

The Human Rights Methodology Lab, a joint initiative of the Human Rights Institute (HRI), Human Rights Watch, and the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice at NYU School of Law, offers a platform for collaborations to flourish across disciplines.

We convene leading human rights practitioners and experts from a variety of fields to expand the toolbox for gathering and presenting evidence of human rights violations, and to foster advocacy-oriented research on human rights.
